TurboFocus Research

TurboFocus research is designed specifically to help our clients derive the maximum possible benefit from every dollar spent on research - and avoid costly missteps.

TurboFocus Research is such a distinctive method that Reactions & Opinions Inc. holds a patent for it. It uncovers not only the who, what, where, and when of quantitative questionnaires, but also the why of qualitative focus groups - with the same dependability as surveys, something never before possible.

Participant Driven Research
Unlike most methods, TurboFocus Research is largely participant-driven and iterative. A patented five-step process uses earlier results as input for further exploration with research participants.

Discovering Both What and Why
TurboFocus Research drills down through results of a survey questionnaire or media test to produce much richer understanding. TurboFocus Research creates a detailed psychological profile of reactions to a marketing campaign, television show, consumer product, or service, providing a vital context for understanding not only what is most important or appealing, but why. It ensures that the solutions you develop have the benefit of 360° understanding. TurboFocus Research can be applied to any source dataset - even pre-existing research findings.

A Breakthrough Approach
This visionary research tool combines the statistical accuracy of surveys and netSlider™ Tests with the deep and reliable insights of rated discussion, a novel approach to focus groups.

TurboFocus Research became possible with the advent of on-demand survey summary tools, and our patented technology for automatic video analysis. With results available immediately throughout data collection, for the first time the same participants could be asked to comment on the findings.

In Their Own Words
A rated discussion, or TurboFocus Group, is conducted for the express purpose of further exploring the highest and lowest ratings - or the inevitable surprises - from an earlier survey or netSlider™ Test. Automatic analysis of discussion ratings made by hundreds of the original research participants sifts through competing explanations of the results, to identify the reasons shared by the most people.

TurboFocus Groups Online
Online research is typically on-demand, at the participant's convenience. Therefore, an Internet TurboFocus Group uses pre-recorded content. Discussion from a traditional or telephone focus group is digitized, edited, and posted online.

Opt-in participants from Reactions & Opinions Inc.'s Internet panel listen to the discussion. Using ROI's patented, online netSlider™, they rate their moment-by-moment agreement or disagreement with the opinions expressed.

On-demand analysis tools instantly identify discussion segments showing the most consensus or disagreement. Our software analyzes millions of data points to pinpoint opinions that are truly representative. Because online TurboFocus discussions are rated by hundreds of participants, results have the reliability of survey research. They can even be segmented to look for distinctive reactions of key subgroups.

Results
Interpretation of the findings from TurboFocus Research does not rely on the judgment of a consultant or executive, or even the word of eight or ten representative consumers. Conclusions carry the weight of endorsement by hundreds of survey participants.
